We have met and exceeded our 2013 AAA goal! Donating to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal gives parishioners the opportunity to change the lives of so many people in need in our community. Of the 550+ registered families in our Parish, we have only received AAA pledges from 76 families, this includes pledges made directly to the Archdiocese.

Blessings to all who generously helped us. We ask that, if you haven’t pledged yet, please do so… now that we have exceeded our goal, every dollar over the goal, reaps a greater percentage back to our Parish. We’d like to have this “cushion” over our goal, in the event that some pledges aren’t fully realized. Thank you for your kind and generous support!!

From the desk of Fr. Jurek…

Dear Friends,

This Sunday something very special is happening to 8 children of our Parish family. For the first time, they will receive the true Body and Blood of Christ. Isn’t this awesome? Let us, for a moment, reflect this mystery and reality of their, and our, relationship with the Lord. These children have already received two sacraments.

First, the Sacrament of Baptism, through which they entered into the “Mystical Body of Christ”, that is to say to the Church. We are all one body, the “Bride” of Christ, whom He loves so much that He gave His life for it. Through our Baptism we truly became daughters and sons of God the Father.

Sometimes that special relationship is damaged by sin, so before we come to receive the Body and Blood of Christ, we have to fix that relationship. That process is called the Sacrament of Reconciliation (confession). In this Sacrament, we come like the prodigal son to meet the Father of infinite mercy, who raises us up and clothes us with unstained royal robes and restores us to our lost relation of being His daughters and sons. Our children received their second Sacrament, the Sacrament of Reconciliation earlier this year.

Today the children will receive the Body and Blood of Christ. Through this beautiful gift, in a very real way, they are becoming Divine, they are one with Him who IS. This is both mystery and reality for us to ponder, that our God wants so much to be one with us. For our faith truly assures us that “we become what we receive.” Let us pray for these children, that they will always remain faithful to this reality and live by it, until one day they meet with Him who IS in heaven.

This happy event is not only for our children and their families, but also for all of our parish family. I would like to thank the families of these children for bringing them up in faith. I would also like to thank their teachers and all who, in any way or fusion, have helped them to grow in faith.

Also, recently, we challenged all of our CCD children to memorize prayers, which they recited in front of their teachers and classmates and, if successful, received certificates. I’m happy to say that all of our children were successful in learning and remembering their prayers and I congratulate each of them, their teachers and their parents.

Finally, we welcome the family of the St. Bridget’s Early Childhood Learning Center to Holy Rosary. As of July 1, 2013 the staff of this wonderful program will become part of Holy Rosary community and will operate under the new name, Holy Rosary Early Childhood Learning Center. Please join me in embracing and warmly welcoming these new members of our parish family.

May God bless you, protect you and keep you safe. Yours in Christ,

Rev. Jerzy Zaslona, Pastor

Last weekend we had a representative from TD Bank speaking at all of our Masses about their Affinity Program. We’re happy to report that many accounts were opened/connected. Thanks to all who participated. If you would like to take part in the Affinity Program, please stop by TD Bank and give them our name for your account to be connected. This Program is fully endorsed by the Archdiocese of Newark. Numerous parishes are enrolled and have reported successful results of this fundraising effort. This type of fundraising requires little effort on our part and we can realize meaningful results in the long-term. Thank You!
